PDO Thread Lift - delicately restoring a sleek and contoured face
When the thread lift was introduced into the cosmetic world, it involved surgery and became wrongly famous for its undesirable side effects, such as infections and thread breakage, but now, the procedure has radically changed, with most methods being non-invasive.
There are various types of thread lifts, being the PDO thread lift amongst the most popular ones.
There are two types of procedures with the PDO Threads
PDO Smooth Threads: Smooth threads are placed under your skin in a hashtag pattern which brings back the lost blood flow to the area which will repair and tighten the skin. PDO smooth threads can be used to smooth wrinkled, crepey skin by replacing and adding collagen and elastin to damaged areas. These threads will build a solid foundation of new collagen production providing natural results.
PDO lifting threads: This type will restore that “beautiful V-shape” to your face and have the same benefits of the smooth threads, giving you an immediate benefit that increases over a 6 month period. PDO threads are fully absorbed in about 4-6 months for results up to 12-24 months. PDO threads are often used with dermal filler and platelet rich plasma (PRP) to create a scaffold under the skin which will provide multiple short and long term benefits of total facial aesthetics.
The PDO Thread Lift is a treatment that helps lift and tighten skin tissue. It uses threads made of Polydioxanone (PDO). Threads and sutures have been used in medical practices for many different reasons for hundreds of years. PDO Threads for aesthetics have been extremely popular in Korea for over a decade. The threads are inserted into the deep layers of the skin and can provide these benefits: Lifting of skin and fatty tissue – this is achieved with the physical and mechanical effects of the threads.
What is the PDO thread lift & how is it done?
The PDO thread lift is a treatment that uses threads made of Polydioxanone to lift and tighten sagging skin tissues. The thread penetrates the deeper layers of the skin and produces the following results:
- The procedure provides instant skin lifting
- It stimulates collagen, which influences cellular renewal, while neovascularization improves skin texture and elasticity and reduces fine lines.
- The procedure contracts the fat tissue and aids in skin tightening.
This non-surgical facelift treatment is minimally invasive. After a thorough consultation, our expert injectors will numb the treatment area. PDO threads are then inserted with cannulas into strategic layers of the skin. After the threads are inserted, they are gently pulled to anchor the skin and lift it upwards.
Typically the treatment process lasts around 30 – 60 minutes. There is mild discomfort during the treatment process, but most clients report that it’s quick and tolerable.
The PDO threads cause the fat tissue to contract, and this, in turn, results in skin tightening and a facial slimming impact. The procedure stimulates collagen growth and regulates the blood vessels to enhance skin microcirculation. The body absorbs the PDO threads within six months, and the effects last for almost a year due to the cellular rejuvenation effect.
The areas that can be treated using PDO thread lift include:
- Forehead or brow lift
- Nasolabial folds, or the line that runs from the nose to the mouth
- Eyebrows, under eyes, and crow’s feet
- Upper and lower cheeks
- Neck, jawline
- Wrinkles around the mouth
- Marionette lines, or the lines at the corners of the mouth that run down the chin
Redefining Facial Contouring
The PDO thread lift redefines the facial contour by inducing collagen production, which creates a lifting effect. The PDO threads form a cohesive support structure for the facial tissue due to the body’s healing process. The outcome of the procedure can be seen immediately, but the rejuvenation becomes noticeable a month or two later.
